How to send compounds for testing
Sending a compound for testing is called a "shipment". Once a test compound has been synthesized and purified, it should be registered as a batch in TUGDB by by the chemist. Before the compound leaves the lab, it should be registered as a shipment:
- Weigh out the accurate amount to be shipped, typically 2-3 mg, in the standard vial. Never send everything. It is important that we keep as much as possible but at least a reference sample in the chemistry lab.
- Look up the compound in TUGDB. If it has not yet been registered, this must be done first by the chemist who synthesized the compound.
- Press the Add shipment button, fill in the amount weighed out, select the lab that will receive the compound.
